Walmer Pre-Primary School Trip to Splitting Image Taxidermy

7 Oct 2017

Splitting Image Taxidermy educates children

Taxidermy is more than just creating displays of art, it is also a great way to educate children about the amazing animals of the world.

The children from Walmer Pre-Primary had a great time learning about so many animals that they’ve only seen on television, and how they differ from one another.

Naturally, being client-centred, it was a great experience engaging with the children, educating them and getting them involved by asking questions. At Splitting Image Taxidermy , no matter how young or old, we care about meeting and exceeding your expectations.

The world is filled with so many animals that we have never seen before and that we don’t understand. Having knowledge of these animals and understanding their behaviour in their natural habitat helps us understand that overpopulation impacts negatively on the natural circle of life. Whether we’re talking about animals, grass, trees, flowers or insects, everything in nature has a purpose and should be balanced.

It was a great experience educating the children at Splitting Image Taxidermy on the balance of nature, by explaining that after a lion has made a kill and eaten, animals such as the jackal would clean up the carcass. This is a good example of balance and of how everything in nature has a purpose.

There are many different animal classes and every animal of the world belongs to them. The six main classes of animals are mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. The animals in these classes look different from one another so that they can live and survive in their natural habitat, and carry out their purpose in nature.

At Splitting Image Taxidermy, we create life-size, life-like trophies that will make you feel as if you’re out in a wild observing the animals in their natural habitat. It is a great way of seeing the animal up close and observing every detail of these fascinating creatures to understand their purpose in the wild. It is a great way of learning together as a family and getting your friends and their children involved as well.

"Love their work. They are very professional and very skilled. They do the best work I have seen."
