How big do Sable antelopes get?

These majestic antelopes stand at about 1.42 m, and can weigh up to 240 kgs. Both sexes have horns, with males being longer and more curved, and these typically reach 1.2 m to 1.6 m in length.


How rare are Sable antelopes?

Though sables are not officially declared as endangered, their population has declined significantly in their origin countries. However, Sable populations are increasing in privately owned properties in South Africa.

Sables reside in savanna woodlands and grasslands, and are typically found in south-eastern and southern Africa.
